Bop or Flop? This Week's Musical Verdict 🎯🔥
Hot tracks, wild takes, and music judgments you can't miss! 🎧🔥

Hey you đź‘‹
Welcome to Bop or Flop, where we put the songs that caught our attention this week on the chopping block — and let you decide if they’re spinning or skipping.
Think of this as the game show nobody asked for but everybody wants to play. The rules are simple: We give you our honest take, you tell us if we’re bugging or if the streets agree.
Let’s get into it…
Bops
Doechii’s “Death Roll” is a straight-up masterpiece…

Doechii’s storytelling is on another level. She’s painting pictures, setting the scene, and making sure every bar sticks. If you love dope, chill, hard-hitting raps, this track is for you. Doechii is proving once again that she’s got the range, the pen, and the presence to take over. This isn’t just another song—it’s a statement.
If you’re unfamiliar with Doechii, she’s TDE’s new star girl. Her new album Alligator Bites Don’t Heal is just what Hip Hop needs. It’s refreshing and honestly empowering to see something black, excellent, and undoubtedly dope.
🔥Lil Wudy’s “Phoebe” is a certified bopper

Stumbled on this one while scrolling, and it’s clear this track is getting a solid organic push—which is always a good sign for an independent artist on the come-up.
These days, catching attention is damn near impossible—let alone making someone stop mid-scroll and have a song actually stick in their head. But Phoebe does exactly that. It’s got that bounce, that vibe, and that hook that just lingers.
At the end of the day, music should make you feel something—and this track does. You either vibe with it, or you don’t. No in-between. And honestly? That’s how you know Lil Wudy is onto something. Keep an eye on him. 🚀
🔥Lexa Gates gave us fire visuals on “What You Wish For”

If you haven’t tapped in yet, Lexa Gates is a Queens rapper with a laid-back flow that’s hard to forget—and her latest drop, What You Wish For, only reinforces that.
But what really sets Lexa apart? Her visuals. Over the past year, she’s been pushing boundaries, from cozying up in a see-through art installation for ten hours to promote Elite Vessel, to crafting some of the most visually captivating moments in underground hip-hop.
With What You Wish For, she continues to build a distinct aesthetic, blending dope storytelling with hypnotic production. If she’s not on your radar yet, it’s time to fix that. 🚀
Welcome to Rico Nasty's "Teeth Sucker" — the perfect anthem for girls who could ruin your life

If there’s one thing about Rico Nasty, she’s gonna pop out, scream in your face, and not give a single solitary damn about whether you like it or not—and honestly, we love that for her.
Her new track Teeth Sucker (Yeah 3X) is pure unhinged chaos wrapped in spiked leather and glitter lip gloss. The beat sounds like someone smashed a punk rock anthem into a trap record and lit it on fire—and somehow, it works.
This is nothing new for Rico. If you've been tapped in since Smack a B or iCarly, you know she’s built a whole lane on being confidently unserious and a little bit scary in the best way possible. The whole record feels like she made it for the girls who bite their nails, talk shit in the group chat, and would absolutely fight you outside of a bathroom stall at a music festival.
YTB Fatt x Rio Da Yung Og skate on “Ghetto Fox”

From the moment you hear YTB Fatt x Rio Da Yung Og—Ghetto Fox, you already have an idea where things are about to go. The give-and-take delivery that YTB Fatt and Rio deliver on this collab is infectious. This song is very Detroit. Maybe it's the Flint Michigan swag from Rio, but either way, it's a dope record. Especially if you’re into Tee Grizzley, Sada Baby, 42 Dugg, or Peezy.
Flops
Here’s some of the unfortunate mid that dropped these past few weeks that we wish never came out.
Party and Drake give us a late 80s dance track that no one asked for…

“Who’s callin ma phoneeeeeeeee, whose callin ma phoneeeeeeeeee, whose callin ma phoneeeeee, whose callin ma”
If you’re unfamiliar with this blockbuster hit. It’s not Tupac. It’s not the new Cole. It’s Partynextdoor and Aubrey. SSS4U is the collab album that nobody really asked for, and to be honest, we really feel bad for both parties (no pun intended).
On one hand, we have Partynextdoor, the low-toned songbird responsible for smashes like TBH, Her Way, and Kehlani’s Freestyle. Not gonna lie, we’ve reminisced to heartbreak in a lot of running cars to PND 1 and 2. Call us biased, but Party is that guy. But similar to Drizz, he’s also been in a bit of a slump and this album didn’t make it any better.
This Nokia record is basically a satire. At least that’s what we thought. What it lacks in seriousness, it tries to make up for in tempo. Not for nothing after the first listen, we haven’t spun the record again. Take that how you want.
Cardi and Pardison lose the plot with “Toot it Up”

Now we’re gonna preface this by saying Cardi is a dope artist. Her delivery on records makes her a standout, and her personality is difficult to forget. She’s not Nicki, but she’s definitely not someone to be played with. Pardison and her make an awesome duo and it’s not hard to see that they work well together.
But the record is dated. It feels like 2017. Strip club, twerking, ass shots, Dyckman, late night, backwoods, mango-flavored hookah. And it’s not bad. The video is well shot, Pardison and Cardi have a cool back and forth, and the sample is cool. It’s just that its been replicated so many times.
Hip Hop changes fast. Today’s trend is tomorrow’s cringe. So it’s never gonna be easy for an artist to stay afloat no matter how dope they are. It’s sad but true, and it’s a whirldwind that Cardi is now getting caught it. Now don’t get it twisted, Cardi really was one of the pioneers of BBL Baddie Rap. Would a lot of the demale Baddie Rap that we see today exist
Party and Drizzy double back with some for your next chisme kick-back
Grab your boots and some chamoyada because the Canadian Boys are back in town. We hope you brought some duro because this track is so hilarious you’re gonna wanna pay us for no apparent reason.
What sucks about this record is how culturally out of touch it is. From the Duo-lingo “No sabe” Spanish (sorry to our Hispanic/Latino readers) to the Bachata line on a Mexican record? It’s genuinely surprising to see how much Drake is straying away from the hit-making template we grew so accustomed to hearing. This one is a 0 out of 10. But it is ironically catchy and funny. So that’s great.
